Cables recording brain waves allow patient Courtney Clark to keep up her harp practice

The Epilepsy Monitoring Unit specializes in diagnosis or treatment of epilepsy and is part of the Neurodiagnostic Lab.

This unit is also part of the Arizona Comprehensive Epilepsy Program (ACEP).

By recording a patient's brain waves (EEG) during an actual seizure, the unit staff makes a more accurate diagnosis and better determines how to treat that patient's seizure disorder.

ACEP is a comprehensive approach to the disease that incorporates the Attached cables record brain waves knowledge and expertise of a group of specialists working together.

Highly trained monitoring technicians, registered EEG technicians, nurses, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and neurophysiologists work with the patient and their referring physician.

For information, call the Epilepsy Program at 694-4564 or 1-800-882-5845.
